Rocking the Daisies

Rocking the Daisies is one of the most life changing, environmental friendly and amazing festivals I look forward to every year! Like good wine, the festival ages beautifully together with a complementary pallet filled with memories, colours and laughter.

This year’s 7th annual festival was sold out with an astonishing amount of 15 000 people saving the planet one step at a time by ‘playing hard and treading lightly’. This number increased since 2011 where 10 531 attended the event. There is something for everyone!

One could dip your toes into the ‘Green Village Tent’ by dancing around barefoot and donating money to the GreenPop and Sunflower foundation. To quench your thirst, the ‘Mainstay Beach Bar’ offers delicious cocktails at a wonderfully cheap price. The next path leads your Converse shoes to join the more alternative and edgy ‘Main Stage’ where live bands perform their inspirational music to the masses.

To let off some steam, one swiftly jogs along the ‘Schnit Tent’ where international short films are projected 24/7. From there, one could warm up ones tummy muscles at the ‘Lemon Tree Theatre’ where one cries with laughter whilst sitting on the edge of your seat. For a more rustic feel, the ‘New World Beat Barn’ allow you to bob your head with an amazing stream of music tickling your taste buds. Finally, the vibrant and energetic ‘Red Bull Electro Stage’ makes you lose all control by dancing and stomping the night away.

There is so much to do with so little time. An experience of a lifetime and memories one could tell to your grandchildren one day (censored of course!). You have not lived until you experience this festival- true story!
