Catfish

http://thefilminformant.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Catfish-Poster-1.jpg

I watched a featured documentary titled Catfish and my jaw has been hanging on the floor for weeks! To cure my ‘jaw dropping illness’, I decided to blog about it. YOU HAVE TO WATCH IT! Why? Social Media is taking a huge chunk out of our lives, thus it is a MUST SEE!

Nev, a 24-year-old photographer meets a little girl, Abby, on Facebook. She is a big fan of his photography and paints his pictures on a daily basis. Nev gets so involved with Abby that he later forms close bonds with Abby’s family. His brothers decide to make a documentary of their friendship, although the plot thickens...are these people real or imaginary?

I don’t want to give the story away-but just watch it and join the discussion! It will make you think. Who knows, maybe I’m not real. Maybe this documentary is not real either...

How do you step from the top of a 100-foot pole?

Easy, blindfold yourself. Not taking me seriously hey? Look at this from my perspective.

We all “walk the plank” of life on a daily basis. Bellow us is an ocean full of problems and opportunities. We cannot tell what the future holds, unless you are psychic/have some kind of special ability.

We have a compass of decisions, morals and values which acts as a tool for guidance. As for me, I will blindfold myself and leap off a 100-foot pole in an instant with elegance.

Most importantly, I will do it my way by taking a leap of faith.  After all, that is what guardian angels are for.

Everyone needs a “Yoda” in their lives

http://www.starwarped.net/files/papers/page-3/1024/master-yoda-desktop.jp
'You think Yoda stops teaching, just because his student does not want to hear? A teacher Yoda is. Yoda teaches like drunkards drink, like killers kill.’ Yoda

What an inspirational little green wrinkly creature Yoda is. He reminds me of my grandfather. I am not saying my granddad is a little green wrinkly creature (well wrinkly yes) but at the age of 91, the wrinkles act as an outline of knowledge and wisdom.

He, my friends, has walked the walk. A FAIR police officer and hero back in his day. He has saved lives, gave second/third/fourth/five chances, read every possible book of Nelson Mandela (his hero) and have passed on his stories and knowledge to his children, grandchildren and GREAT grandchildren.

Hell, at his age, he even came to my 21st to be a part of the experience and stayed out till 22:30 (mad skill) and carefully observed my every move with his falcon eyes and thinning silver grey hair.

With a 70 year age gap between us, he still knows how to get through to me by adapting to the every changing environment which in turn, diminishes the world he once knew. If all else fails, my grandfather(s) is and will stay the driving force behind my decisions for better or for worse. After all, you only gain wisdom when you make mistakes.

Phrenological-does this word ring a bell? It is related to a study saying your brain is divided up into 37 intellectual and emotional combined parts. This single sentence made YOU use the 37th part: Comparison. Intrigued? Well, you should be since your 35th component of language is simultaneously being used in order to read this entry.

What am I getting at? When we came into this world, classified as blue (boy), pink (girl) or purple (do the math, 30th component b.t.w.) we develop at different rates. Naturally it should include the development of your Cerebrum (brain). These 37 qualities include:
