The elephant in the room

What an interesting saying. Taking it from a literal point of view, it would be such an interesting story. Imagine having a fully grown elephant in your lounge? What would you do? Feed it, give it some Amarula or send it home?  On a serious note: one should avoid this scenario.

Look, in the first place, you let that baby elephant into your home. It was small enough to remove, but a couple of years later, this fully grown elephant will be such a hassle to live with. This locks in with the figurative approach. 

Not only does it affect you, but all those around you. Get that ‘elephant’ out of the way without enduring animal cruelty. Who knows, one day it will make a cool story.
