Try a cliché

Commercial love stories are stories which we have not seen the ending to...Those American blockbusters are too surreal.  Have it occurred to you that everything seems to fall in place at exactly the appropriate time within these fictional spaces?

Where have you ever seen that throwing pebbles to a girl’s window has ever worked? Romeo, Juliet’s parents will call the police and have you arrested-well in South Africa in anyways. Besides, playing guitar outside her window whilst singing a love song will only wake her up and put her in a bad mood!

The ‘hero’ always gets the girl. Look at 007 for instance; a man in his mid 40s seems to swoop all the young ladies off their feet. Let alone, the women are young enough to be his daughter! Yes, Indiana Jones also falls under this category.

The hundreds of roses being delivered to your doorstep would, in real life, only be an obsessive stalker trying to lure you out.  Then again, these cliché’s have been used in films repeatedly and it still sells...

I am not going to lie...but the film 10 Things I Hate about You, remains a guilty pleasure. (Sigh) if only reality was so simple.
