Top Twenty Series: 1#

Within my personal countdown of my favourite Top Twenty Series of all time, The Walking Dead has earned first place. Frank Darabont have created three seasons (2010-) so far and wow- it keeps you on the edge of your seat!

Classy script, beautifully and cleverly constructed. My favourite element of this series is the sense of realism. This series makes my imagination run wild! Time and time again I wonder what I should do if I was stuck in such a situation. Yes yes yes- it is only a story...but imagine due to bio-weaponry experiments at the hand of a ringleader abusing his/hers/its power...

Have it ever crossed your mind: things to do during a zombie apocalypse?

Top Twenty Series: 2#

Within my personal countdown of my favourite Top Twenty Series of all time, American Horror Story came in at 2 #. Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk have created two spine tingling seasons (2011-) thus far.

They are the same master minds behind Glee. Two very different genres but executed brilliantly. The element of filmmaking which is most important (to me) is the essence of the desired effect: feelings. As soon as the audience feels something, then you know you are on the right track.

I have watched several horror movies in my short life time and I must say this series has freaked me out on numerous occasions. A great story with an amazing visual presence.

Did you also sleep with one eye open after watching an episode from this series?

Within my personal countdown of my favourite Top Twenty Series of all time, Supernatural slipped in at 3 #. Eric Kripke have created eight seasons (2005-) thus far.

This series was one I watched back to back, episode after episode, from one season to another. I love the fact that they address the possibility of urban legends and ghost stories being real. Sam and Dean are ma’boys!

Who do you like more? Sam, Dean, Castile or Bobby? This is a tough one!

Within my personal countdown of my favourite Top Twenty Series of all time, New Girl slipped in at 4#. Elizabeth Meriwether have created two seasons (2011-) thus far.

This is a feel good series- no doom and gloom. I love the fact that this colourful and vibrant story is created by a woman. The element I appreciate the most is the fine detail attached to every character, event and plot. No stone is left unturned.

Confession corner: I adore Zooey Deschanel!

Within my personal countdown of my favourite Top Twenty Series of all time, Skins UK slipped in at 5 #. Bryan Elsley and Jamie Brittain have created seven seasons (2007-).

I love the filmmaking approach to this series. Beautifully shot, edited and graded. The best part is that the script and the visuals are on the same standard. My favourite element of the show is the fact that after two seasons, the characters change completely and the story focuses on the next generation.

Who is your favourite generation?
