Watch your back! I witnessed a terrible
experience nearly a week ago which took place on the highway. I cannot shake
the images off which I saw; thus this is a psychological diary entry.
When I see blue lights flickering on a
highway at night, my thoughts immediately associates it with a roadblock. It
was 22:00 on a Friday evening. Miserable weather and we were stuck in traffic-
this is a very unlikely sentence.
As we approached the scene, we saw a white
car lying on its back crumbled up like an apology letter. Ambulances entered
the scene assisting the injured. Not 10 meters further, another vehicle was
turned on its back...on fire! More police officers, ambulances and firemen
surrounded the scenes.
The image of young people crying, being in
shock and frantically phoning their loved ones together with the setting is
something I will never forget. So please, whoever you are, please be careful
and watch your back no matter what.
